Kangana Ranaut’s Vande Mataram Attack on Congress Sparks Fresh Political Row

BJP MP Kangana Ranaut targets Congress leaders after the Vande Mataram controversy, accusing the party of moving beyond opposition politics.

BJP MP Kangana Ranaut from Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi has launched a sharp attack on Congress leadership. The statement came after a controversy involving Vande Mataram’s singing during a Congress programme. Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi attended the August 15 event. Following the controversy, Kangana criticised senior Congress figures. She also compared their actions with neighbouring country Pakistan.

Kangana Questions Congress Reaction Over Vande Mataram

Kangana Ranaut said Vande Mataram represents India’s consciousness. She added that her experience as an artist helps her understand poetry’s impact on a nation. According to Kangana, such strong opposition and hatred towards the song raised questions. She claimed Congress leaders ignored cameras during the incident.

Kangana said, “They became restless to switch off the camera.” She further added, “Even people in Pakistan do not become so restless.” Through her statement, Kangana targeted Congress leaders over their response during the controversy.

Kangana Accuses Congress of Becoming Anti-National

Kangana also made a sarcastic remark about Congress leaders. She said they have become a subject of laughter across the country. According to Kangana, Congress started as an opponent of BJP but has now become against the nation.

The BJP MP gave these remarks after visiting Siddhivinayak Temple in Mumbai. Kangana arrived in Maharashtra’s capital on Tuesday morning. She offered prayers at the temple and described Siddhivinayak as Mumbai’s protector. She said she feels fortunate whenever she gets an opportunity to visit.

Kangana Raises Challenge of Fighting ‘Mental Naxalism’

Kangana said BJP’s new challenge involves fighting “mental Naxalism.” She spoke about people receiving knowledge through social media instead of newspapers, books and parental guidance. According to her, incorrect information spreads through this reel culture.

She said preparations are underway to fight misinformation. Kangana also claimed that women and young people are being influenced through false information. Therefore, she stressed the need to address this challenge.
