Colombia’s 67-year-old Miriam claims she earns money by collecting neighbourhood gossip, keeping secrets, and sharing information backed by evidence.

Colombia’s 67-year-old Miriam has turned other people’s gossip into her business. She claims those earnings have already helped her purchase two houses. Miriam follows an unusual method for making money. She listens to neighbourhood gossip and private conversations, then charges people for information. Recently, content creator Lady Daniela shared an interview featuring Miriam. During that conversation, she explained how her unusual work operates.

Miriam describes herself as a professional gossiper. In Spanish, the term refers to a woman who knows other people’s gossip. She usually sits outside her home and listens to conversations happening nearby. For ordinary or minor information, Miriam charges between 5,000 and 10,000 Colombian pesos.

Moreover, Miriam always carries a notebook with her. She writes conversations and important details inside it. According to Miriam, this habit helps her remember information accurately. Additionally, those written notes provide evidence whenever she needs proof.

One Secret Allegedly Earned Miriam 700,000 Colombian Pesos

Miriam also showed a board displayed inside her house. It contained photographs alongside several other items. She claims those materials serve as evidence connected with her gossip. Furthermore, Miriam said some people pay her specifically to keep their secrets hidden.

According to her account, one deal brought the highest payment she has ever received. Miriam said someone paid her 700,000 Colombian pesos for maintaining secrecy. The payment concerned information about that person’s infidelity.

Therefore, her work does not only involve sharing neighbourhood information. In some situations, Miriam also earns money by keeping sensitive details private.

Miriam Claims Gossip Earnings Helped Her Buy Two Houses

During the interview, Miriam also displayed a large piggy bank. Coins and currency notes filled the container. She claimed everything inside represented earnings from just one week.

Furthermore, Miriam says money from selling gossip allowed her to purchase two houses. However, she insists she never discusses anyone without supporting evidence.

Her unusual profession has now earned her another identity within the neighbourhood. Local people know Miriam as the “Queen of Gossip.” Meanwhile, her unconventional work has also attracted attention across social media.

Miriam openly embraces her relationship with gossip. She says, “Gossip is my life, it is in my blood.” Finally, she believes gossip will always exist wherever people live.
