Twisha Sharma’s suspicious death case in Bhopal continues to intensify. Now, Madhya Pradesh High Court has allowed a second postmortem on her body. The order came after her family filed a petition. Advocate General Prashant Singh, representing the government, said authorities had no objection. However, accused husband Samarth Singh’s lawyer, Mrigendra Singh, opposed the move. He argued that another postmortem would show distrust toward doctors in the state.
Father’s Petition Gets Court Approval
Twisha Sharma, 33, married Bhopal lawyer Samarth Singh in December 2025. However, she died under suspicious circumstances on May 12, 2026, just five months after marriage. The High Court accepted the petition filed by Twisha’s father, Navnidhi Sharma. Therefore, the court cleared the way for a fresh medical examination.

AIIMS Delhi Team Will Visit Bhopal
After the court order, expert doctors from Delhi AIIMS will reach Bhopal. Delhi AIIMS Director Dr Nikhil Tandon will form the special medical team. The team will complete the postmortem process as soon as possible. Meanwhile, the High Court has directed authorities to keep Twisha Sharma’s body safe at AIIMS Bhopal.
Family Questioned First Report
The first postmortem report mentioned suicide as the cause of death. However, Twisha’s family had questioned that report from the beginning. Earlier, her father had filed a petition in Bhopal district court for another postmortem. That court had rejected the request. Now, the High Court’s decision has given the family another legal opening.
Family Hopes For Truth
Twisha’s family says the second postmortem may reveal the real cause of death. They also hope it will help their daughter get justice. The family had demanded a CBI investigation in this case. Authorities have accepted that demand, and the probe now stands transferred to CBI.
Samarth’s Bail Plea Withdrawn
Twisha’s husband Samarth Singh has remained absconding since her death. His lawyer, Mrigendra Singh, had filed an anticipatory bail petition in the High Court. However, he has now withdrawn that bail plea. Therefore, the case has entered a sharper legal phase with the second postmortem and CBI investigation.
