Cockroach Janata Party Faces Big X Action After Viral Online Rise

The Cockroach Janata Party’s X account now shows a legal demand notice, even as its Instagram following crosses 13 million.

Cockroach Janata Party, or CJP, has lost access to its X account in India. The online campaign began against a statement by Chief Justice of India Suryakant. Over the past few days, this party has drawn wide attention across the internet.

Founder Abhijeet Deepke said someone first tried to hack the account. However, that attempt failed. After that, according to him, the account faced closure. On X, CJP had more than 1.6 lakh followers.

Instagram Numbers Rise Fast

Meanwhile, CJP’s Instagram following has crossed 13 million. When users open the party’s X account, they see a legal demand message. The platform says it withheld the account because of legal demand.

This development has added another twist to the viral campaign. Moreover, the action came when CJP had already become a major online talking point.

How The Campaign Started

The CJP online campaign began on May 16. Chief Justice of India Suryakant had used the word “cockroach” while referring to some unemployed youth. In protest, Deepke wrote a sharp line online.

He asked what would happen if all cockroaches came together. Soon after, users started the Cockroach Janata Party campaign. Then, more people joined it rapidly across social media.

CJP Claims Major Online Reach

On Instagram, CJP has now gone ahead of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party in follower count. Reports say nearly six lakh people have registered themselves for the campaign. Its follower list on social media also includes several major leaders and celebrities.
