If you create content, YouTube now prepares a powerful new feature for you. According to reports, the platform plans to introduce an AI-powered remix tool.
Through this update, creators can easily build new videos from existing Shorts. Currently, YouTube tests this feature with English-language creators.
Moreover, the company will place this option inside the Shorts “Remix” menu. Instead of manual editing, users can give prompts to generate visual changes.
Two Powerful Tools Inside The Feature
The feature will include two tools named “Add Object” and “Reimagine.”
With Add Object, users can insert AI-generated items into any scene taken from Shorts. Additionally, YouTube confirms this tool will work on clips up to eight seconds long.
Therefore, creators can add visual twists without using third-party applications.
Meanwhile, the second tool, Reimagine, will transform a single Shorts frame into a completely new AI-generated video.
To use it, creators will receive suggested prompts. However, they can also write their own prompts to generate custom videos. Furthermore, users can upload two photos as references for content creation. Consequently, this tool helps creators develop fresh material from a single scene.
Original Shorts Will Stay Linked
Every video created through this feature will remain linked to the original Shorts. Therefore, viewers can identify the source creator clearly. However, if a creator does not want remix-based videos, they can disable the standard remix option.
Currently, YouTube continues testing this feature. If it succeeds, the company may expand it beyond English to other languages.
