The Paper Leak Incident
The leak originated from Sikar, Rajasthan. Initially, the Rajasthan Police’s Special Operations Group (SOG) did not believe the leak occurred. However, after further investigation, they confirmed that 120-150 questions from the guess paper were found in the exam. Among these were 30 chemistry and 90 biology questions.
NTA’s Response to the Paper Leak
NTA announced the cancellation of NEET UG 2026 due to the leak. The agency also acknowledged the inconvenience caused to candidates and parents. However, NTA stressed that the decision was necessary to preserve the exam’s credibility and students’ trust.
Re-exam Details: No Need for New Registration
Candidates who appeared for the May 3, 2026 exam will not need to fill out a new registration form. Their existing registration and chosen exam center remain valid. Additionally, there will be no extra fee for the re-exam. NTA also confirmed that the previously paid fees will be refunded.
