India completed a golden hat-trick in archery at the Asian Games 2026 on September 30. Sahil Jadhav, Ganesh and Kushal won gold in the men’s compound team event. The Indian trio scored 238 points in the final. Meanwhile, China finished with 237 points after a close battle.
With this victory, India secured its 10th gold medal at the Asian Games 2026. The win also highlighted India’s strong performance in archery.
Indian Archers Showed Remarkable Patience Under Pressure
Initially, India faced difficulty in the final. The team trailed China 60-58 after the first set. However, Sahil, Ganesh and Kushal remained calm during the intense contest. The Indian archers continued hitting perfect 10 scores. The trio produced a stunning run of 19 consecutive perfect-10 shots. Until the third set, China maintained a narrow lead of 179-178. Therefore, the final moments tested the patience of all six archers. During the last set, a Chinese player struggled under pressure.
The Chinese archer scored only eight points with the opening shot. Consequently, India moved ahead by one point.
After that, India delivered a perfect 60-point final set. The result confirmed India’s gold medal victory.
Even if South Korea’s three archers had scored perfect 10s, they would have remained one point behind. Eventually, India defeated China 238-237.
India Completes Golden Hat-Trick In Archery
Earlier on September 30, India achieved three archery gold medals at the Asian Games. First, the women’s compound team defeated China 238-234.
Chikitha, Prateek and Jyoti matched the world record during that victory. Later, Sahil and Chikitha won gold in the compound mixed event.
Finally, Ganesh, Sahil and Kushal completed India’s archery golden hat-trick. Their performance added another memorable chapter to India’s Asian Games campaign.
