Gosainganj MLA Abhay Singh compared SP and BJP candidates, questioning PDA representation while highlighting social groups in the BJP list.

Today marks the final nomination day for elections to 10 Rajya Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh. Meanwhile, Gosainganj MLA Abhay Singh targeted the Samajwadi Party’s PDA formula in Ayodhya. He compared candidates announced by SP and BJP while questioning the opposition party’s representation claims.

Singh shared a post through his social media handle. There, he criticised the Samajwadi Party’s candidate choices. Moreover, his post asked, “Where is PDA?”

Post questions SP candidate choices

Singh wrote, “See the real PDA face of the Samajwadi Party in its ticket list!” He explained PDA as backward classes, Dalits and minorities.

Next, Singh named SP candidates Professor Ram Gopal Yadav and businessman Dhanraj Parimal Nathwani. He then asked, “Where is P, where is D and where is A?”

However, Singh also listed BJP candidates alongside their caste identities.

BJP candidate list shared by Gosainganj MLA

Singh shared BJP’s Rajya Sabha candidate list in his post. It included Dharampal Singh, identified as Lodhi and OBC.

The list also named Radhakant Ojha as Brahmin and Prakash Pal under OBC. Vidyasagar Sonkar appeared under SC, while Gopi Krishna Pandey featured as Brahmin.

Priyanka Singh Rawat appeared under SC, while Ram Pratap Singh Chauhan featured as Thakur. Shruti Gangwar appeared under OBC.

Singh said BJP’s list showed representation from several social groups. He mentioned OBCs, Scheduled Castes, Brahmins, Rajputs and women.

Singh questions SP’s words and actions

Singh then questioned what he described as a gap between SP’s claims and decisions. He wrote, “A slogan is a declaration, representation is its test.”

His post continued, “A speech is an assurance, opportunity is its proof.” He added, “Taking society’s name is politics, giving society space is representation.”

Finally, Singh wrote, “Politics is recognised not by speeches, but by decisions.”
