Violence Erupts, Police Step In

During the protest, workers damaged vehicles and nearby properties. Moreover, reports confirmed incidents of stone pelting at the site. Therefore, authorities deployed heavy police force to control the situation.

According to available information, police detained around 50 individuals. Meanwhile, the unrest continued to impact normal movement in the industrial area. As a result, authorities focused on restoring order quickly.

Traffic Disruptions Across Key Routes

Following the violence, officials shut the Chilla border connecting Delhi and Noida. Consequently, traffic diversion began from Charkha Golchakkar towards alternate routes. This decision led to massive congestion across surrounding areas.

Additionally, heavy traffic built up on the Delhi-Noida DND flyover. Therefore, commuters faced severe delays throughout the day. The situation worsened as more workers gathered on roads.

Workers Demand Equal Pay

Workers questioned why Noida employees received lower salaries than Faridabad staff. They stated that the company increased wages in the Faridabad unit. Therefore, they demanded similar benefits for Noida workers.

Specifically, workers asked for a minimum salary of ₹20,000 for all employees. Meanwhile, the protest expanded beyond a single company. Gradually, employees from nearby export firms and industrial units also joined.

Salary Decision Triggers Wider Protest

Reports confirmed that Richa Global operates a unit in Faridabad, Haryana. There, workers protested for several days demanding salary increases. Subsequently, management approved a 35 percent hike.

Under this decision, technical staff received ₹20,000 salaries. Meanwhile, non-technical staff received ₹15,000 salaries. Following this, workers in Noida Phase 2 demanded similar hikes across four factories.

Government Responds With Strict Directions

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held a meeting with labour department officials in Lucknow. He directed authorities to ensure fair wages and safe working conditions. Additionally, he emphasized providing all basic facilities to workers.

He instructed industrial units to strictly follow labour laws. Furthermore, he asked officials to resolve worker issues within fixed timelines. Authorities must establish communication with industries within 24 hours.

Moreover, he warned against elements trying to disturb peace in the name of workers. He also urged vigilance against attempts to revive weakened Naxal activities. Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party spokesperson Manoj Kaka supported the protesting workers.
