Imagine creating a list for arranged marriage proposals and tracking every conversation through different status labels. Some discussions remain “active”, while others become “paused” or “closed”. Would you call that corporate behaviour or simply a smart approach? Pune resident Vikas Lohtia, 29, followed exactly this method. When his marriage search became confusing, he adopted an HR-style system. Consequently, Vikas created a complete Marriage Tracker Excel Sheet. The unusual spreadsheet later went viral across the internet and surprised many people.

However, the story did not end with viral attention. After nearly 12 months, 53 profiles and numerous conversations, Vikas finally found his partner. Speaking with a website, he explained how their relationship began. Interestingly, that journey also carried several memorable moments.

Vikas works as a procurement manager at a metal company and also creates content. During 2025, he built the spreadsheet for himself and his parents. The tracker helped everyone monitor progress across different proposals. After nearly one year and conversations with 53 potential matches, he met a Gurugram professor through Jeevansathi.

Vikas said he started updating the tracker during October last year. Then, conversations with his future wife began in November. After roughly nine to ten months of lengthy discussions, they decided to marry. Both families remain extremely happy with the relationship. Their wedding has now been fixed for June 2027.

A Salary Joke Made Their First Meeting Even More Memorable

According to Vikas, no single reason pushed their relationship forward. Instead, similar thinking and lifestyles helped both connect naturally. Additionally, each comes from Haryana, which made mutual understanding easier. Vikas also shared a funny story from their first meeting.

He said several women previously carried very high expectations regarding a partner’s salary. Therefore, Vikas told his future wife that he earned only half his actual income. Later, he revealed the truth about his real salary. Both then laughed together after learning about the deliberate understatement.

Another striking detail concerned the viral spreadsheet itself. Vikas’s fiancée already knew about that Excel tracker before their relationship developed. She had previously seen news coverage about it.

From their first day, Vikas openly discussed money and lifestyle expectations. According to him, couples should speak clearly about finances before making such a major decision. He also considers future planning equally important before marriage.

A Family Tracker Eventually Became Vikas’s Online Identity and Income Source

Initially, Vikas created the system only to update his parents every day. However, the small personal project gradually developed into an online brand. Over the past year, he created nearly 1,200 videos about arranged marriage.

His work also expanded beyond content creation. During the same period, Vikas advised more than 5,000 people about arranged marriage.

What began as a simple Excel sheet eventually became something much larger. Today, that project forms part of his public identity. Moreover, it has also developed into a source of income.

Now, after 53 profiles and nearly one year of searching, his tracker has reached its most personal milestone. Vikas has found his future wife, while both families prepare for their June 2027 wedding.
