Due to Middle East tensions, LPG shortage has increased across the country. Therefore, the government has taken a major decision to manage supply. Moreover, authorities have directed approvals for new PNG connections within seven days. Additionally, this move aims to shift more households from LPG to PNG.
Demand For PNG Connections Rises
Recently, demand for PNG connections has increased sharply across several regions. Moreover, reports indicate that authorities issued many new connections in a short period. Therefore, this trend reflects growing dependence on PNG during the shortage.
Apply From Home Using Mobile Phone
Now, users do not need to visit offices for PNG applications. Instead, they can apply easily using their mobile phones from home. Moreover, applicants must visit the gas company website or app. Then, they need to fill basic details and upload required documents.
Required Documents For PNG Connection
Applicants must submit identity proof such as Aadhaar card, PAN card, voter ID, or passport. Moreover, they need address proof like electricity bill, telephone bill, ration card, or property tax receipt. Additionally, tenants must provide landlord NOC and rent agreement. Also, applicants must keep a passport-size photo ready in PDF or JPEG format.
Step-By-Step Online Application Process
First, users must open the selected gas supplier’s website or app. Then, they should choose the Apply Online option and select domestic PNG connection. Next, they must enter their area pin code to check pipeline availability. If service exists, they should complete the registration form and upload documents.
After that, users must pay a refundable security deposit between ₹5000 and ₹7000. Moreover, after payment, they receive an application or reference number. Therefore, they can track application status using this number.
Payment And Verification Differences
However, different companies follow slightly different application processes. Some companies collect fees during application, while others allow payment later. Moreover, some providers offer instalment options for security deposits.
Additionally, verification methods vary across companies. Some providers complete verification instantly using Aadhaar-based e-KYC. Meanwhile, others send survey teams to verify documents physically at homes. After verification, companies start pipeline installation work.
