Police Response And Ground Situation
According to officials, police deployed sufficient force and senior officers across key areas. These locations included Cleo County, Garhi Chaukhandi, Sector 121, and Sector 70. Authorities stated all incidents originated from one location involving domestic helpers.
Furthermore, domestic workers protested peacefully demanding higher wages for household work. Police confirmed that law and order remained fully established. Therefore, officials appealed to people not to spread unverified information.
Additionally, authorities warned strict legal action against those spreading rumours or creating unrest. Officials also urged citizens to cooperate with police and maintain calm behaviour. Police reiterated commitment to safety, peace, and public convenience.
Maid Protest And Worker Demands
Meanwhile, several domestic workers gathered at Cleo County in Sector 121 for protests. Workers stated their wages remained low and required immediate increase. They also claimed employers did not provide sufficient leave benefits.
Therefore, workers announced refusal to resume duties until wage demands get fulfilled. Police remained present at the site to manage the situation effectively.

Wage Hike Announcement And Relief Measures
Following unrest, the government announced interim wage relief for workers across regions. Notably, Gautam Buddh Nagar and Ghaziabad received the highest increase of nearly 21 percent.
Revised wages now stand higher across all skill categories starting April 1. Unskilled wages increased from ₹11,313 to ₹13,690. Semi-skilled wages rose from ₹12,445 to ₹15,059. Skilled wages climbed from ₹13,940 to ₹16,868.
Authorities described this increase as major relief for protesting workers. Meanwhile, the government will form a wage board next month. This board will recommend final minimum wage structures.
