Speculation surrounded Nishant Kumar becoming Deputy Chief Minister in Bihar’s new government. However, that possibility did not materialize after formation of the government. On Thursday morning, April 16, 2026, Nishant visited the JDU office. Meanwhile, media questioned him regarding his political role and expectations. Journalists asked why he did not want to become Deputy Chief Minister. Additionally, they suggested that he should handle party responsibilities after joining JDU. However, Nishant avoided giving a direct response to these questions.
Repeats Focus On Leadership And Party Work
Instead of answering directly, Nishant repeated his earlier statements before the media. He said that Samrat Choudhary would lead Bihar toward development. Moreover, he emphasized that the NDA government works under Samrat’s leadership. He added that his father Nitish Kumar would continue guiding the government.
Furthermore, Nishant said he would work to strengthen the JDU organization. He also stated that he wants to take his father’s 20 years of work to every citizen. Additionally, he expressed his intention to complete his father’s unfinished dreams. He also hoped that public trust and blessings would continue.
Supporters Raise Slogans At Party Office
After making these remarks, Nishant moved inside the party office quickly. Meanwhile, supporters gathered outside and raised slogans in his support. They shouted “Nishant Babu Zindabad” and praised him as their preferred leader.
Absence From Oath Ceremony Raises Questions
Earlier, on April 15, Samrat Choudhary took oath as Chief Minister. At the same time, Vijay Choudhary and Bijendra Yadav became Deputy Chief Ministers from JDU. However, Nishant did not attend this oath ceremony event. In contrast, Nitish Kumar was present during the ceremony.
Active In Party Despite Staying Out Of Government
Although Nishant stayed away from government roles, he remains active within the party. He continues meeting party leaders and workers regularly across platforms. Additionally, he frequently visits the party office for discussions.
According to his statements, his focus remains on strengthening the party organization. Moreover, he continues repeating this intention in his public remarks consistently.
