NEET Paper Leak Case: Fast Track Court Hearing Delayed on First Day

The first hearing in the NEET UG paper leak case was postponed after the CBI lawyer failed to appear before the fast track court.

Fast Track Court Hearing Delayed After CBI Lawyer Absence

Amid nationwide student protests, the government formed a fast track court for paper leak cases. The court aimed to punish accused individuals quickly. However, the first hearing faced a delay on Monday, July 27.The special fast track court operates under the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024. Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court hosted the first hearing for paper leak matters.

However, the hearing could not proceed because the CBI lawyer did not appear before the court. Therefore, the court postponed the matter until August 3.

Court Schedules Next Hearing on August 3

Special Judge Anu Grover Baliga had to hear bail pleas of Dinesh Bival and Vikas Bival. Both accused individuals face arrest in the NEET UG 2026 paper leak case.Meanwhile, the court directed the Director of Prosecution to appoint a public prosecutor. The prosecutor will handle the NEET paper leak case proceedings.

Accordingly, the next hearing at Rouse Avenue Court will take place on August 3. The hearing will begin at 10 AM.

CBI Arrested Two Accused in Paper Leak Case

Dinesh Bival and Vikas Bival are among 13 accused arrested by the CBI. The agency arrested them for their alleged role in the NEET UG paper leak conspiracy.

According to the investigation agency, the accused belonged to a network. This network allegedly leaked the examination paper before the test.

Furthermore, the group allegedly shared the leaked paper with several candidates before the examination.

PM Modi Announced Fast Track Courts for Paper Leak Cases

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the formation of fast track courts on July 23. He shared the decision through a social media post.

He said protecting youth interests and their future remained the government’s top priority. Moreover, he announced strict punishment for those involved in paper leak cases.

The Prime Minister said fast track courts would ensure quick disposal of cases. He also directed departments to complete necessary actions.

Additionally, he stated that anyone harming young people’s future would not receive protection.

Student Movement Led to Government Action

The fast track court decision came after nationwide student protests against alleged paper leaks. The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) led the movement across the country.

The protest ended after Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigned from his position.
