Kejriwal announces march against E20 fuel
Before reaching the Prime Minister’s residence, Kejriwal said they would carry two lakh copies. He questioned where authorities would stop their march.
He said, “I hope they will not stop us.” Kejriwal added that people wanted to present their concerns directly.
Meanwhile, security arrangements increased before the planned march. Rapid Action Force personnel also received deployment.
AAP Delhi unit president Saurabh Bharadwaj said many people wrote letters regarding the issue. He said they wanted to submit those letters to the Prime Minister.
According to Bharadwaj, only 100 people would meet the Prime Minister. He hoped the Prime Minister would meet them.
Lawyers raise concerns over proposed march
Several lawyers submitted a representation to the Delhi Police Commissioner. They expressed serious concerns about Kejriwal’s proposed march.
The representation stated that the Prime Minister’s official residence remains a highly sensitive security location. Lawyers said public mobilisation there could affect security and law enforcement.
They also reminded police about the July 21, 2026 incident. During that event, opposition MPs held a protest outside the Prime Minister’s residence without permission.
After that incident, hundreds of lawyers from the Supreme Court, High Courts, and district courts approached the Chief Justice of India. They demanded clear guidelines for protests in high-security zones.
BJP attacks Kejriwal over PM residence march
Delhi BJP president Harsh Malhotra criticised Kejriwal’s planned march. He said a competition of “Anarchy No. 1” was happening between Kejriwal and Rahul Gandhi.
Malhotra claimed Kejriwal announced the march without permission to compete in this political space. He also accused Kejriwal of creating disorder and later playing the victim card.
He said police would stop Kejriwal from entering the Prime Minister’s residence without approval. According to Malhotra, Kejriwal would then claim that the government refused dialogue.
