Union Ministers JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh will meet CJP leaders today at 12 pm. The meeting comes after their earlier discussion with CJP representatives. Two days ago, CJP leaders met JP Nadda and presented their demands.
Meanwhile, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi commented on the student protest and police action. She said the incident involving leaders was irrelevant compared with student concerns. She added that students have genuine demands and seek their rights.
According to Priyanka Gandhi, students want changes in the system. She said paper leaks happen repeatedly and the government cannot provide jobs. She claimed that youth futures face damage due to these issues.
Priyanka Gandhi Raises Questions Over Student Protest Action
Priyanka Gandhi said peaceful protest remains a democratic right. She added that peaceful demonstrations cannot become undemocratic. However, she questioned the treatment students faced on roads and inside Parliament.
She also said opposition members do not get opportunities for discussion inside the House. According to her, leaders receive responses that discussions will happen with the government.
Supreme Court Declines To Hear CJP Protest Matter
The CJP protest lathi-charge issue reached the Supreme Court on Wednesday. During the hearing, Chief Justice Suryakant said the court had no interest in the case.
Advocate Narendra Mishra told the court that the matter involved NEET paper leak students. However, Chief Justice Suryakant did not hear the case.
The Chief Justice told Advocate Narendra Kumar Mishra not to waste time. Mishra explained that students raised issues about fair NEET conduct and NTA reforms.
Additionally, when the lawyer mentioned videos showing alleged police excesses, the CJI responded that the court had no interest in watching them. He said the court did not have time for those videos.
Earlier, the Delhi High Court also refused immediate hearing in a similar matter. The court said it should not get dragged into the issue.
