CJI Suryakant expressed his joy over the massive voter turnout in Bengal’s first-phase elections. While the Supreme Court was hearing petitions, he remarked on the importance of voting.

These petitions came from 71 individuals who were removed from the voter list after the SIRO process. Their case is currently under review by the appellate tribunal.
