The NEET paper leak protest and demand for Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation have expanded across Delhi. Meanwhile, the Parliament Monsoon Session is also underway in the capital. Therefore, maintaining security has become a major challenge for authorities. Several protests across Delhi have increased pressure on the city’s security system. Consequently, 20 CRPF companies have arrived from West Bengal for additional deployment.
Officials connected with the matter said the Centre ordered more CRPF deployment. The decision follows CJP protests and demonstrations by different political groups. Additionally, the move aims to strengthen security arrangements across Delhi.
CRPF Personnel To Reach Delhi Through Special Flights
The Ministry of Home Affairs issued an immediate deployment order on Tuesday night. After that, CRPF personnel started moving from West Bengal to Delhi through aircraft. Security officials told PTI that 20 CRPF companies are being brought from Kolkata. The deployment will support law and order management during protests and Parliament proceedings.
Furthermore, officials said recent violent clashes during protests created the need for urgent action. The authorities want to strengthen arrangements at sensitive locations. Therefore, additional forces will assist Delhi Police during ongoing events.
Delhi Already Had 30 CRPF And RAF Companies
Officials explained that these CRPF companies had earlier moved to West Bengal. The forces went there months ago for assembly election duties. After elections, the state government requested their continued presence.
A CRPF company usually includes around 100 personnel. Therefore, bringing 20 companies means nearly 2,000 personnel will reach Delhi.
Additionally, authorities said the Centre has already provided around 30 CRPF companies. These forces include CRPF units and its specialised riot control wing, Rapid Action Force (RAF).
The deployment supports Delhi Police during CJP protests and the Parliament Monsoon Session that began on July 20. The government increased security arrangements considering the ongoing demonstrations and law-and-order requirements.
