AAP national convenor and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced help for students after the Delhi protest. He shared the announcement after police filed cases against several students involved in the movement.
Through a video message on social media platform X, Kejriwal called the treatment of students extremely shameful. He said any student needing legal or medical assistance could contact the helpline. He released the number 85-888-33548 for support.
Kejriwal promised that his team would provide legal assistance to affected students. He told students not to panic and assured them of support. He said everyone stood together during this situation.
Furthermore, Kejriwal said the party would fight the issue collectively. He described the incident involving students as deeply concerning.
Kejriwal Raises Questions Over Police Action
During a press conference, Kejriwal said he had never witnessed such an incident in history. He mentioned that several videos were circulating on social media platforms.
According to him, some videos showed students requesting help from police officials. He also claimed that some young women folded their hands before police personnel. However, he alleged that they still faced physical action.
Moreover, Kejriwal referred to videos showing unarmed students facing action without provocation. He described one video where police personnel stood nearby. He claimed they struck passing students with batons despite no aggression from them.
Kejriwal said students did not attack anyone during the protest. He added that students only wanted to present their concerns.
Students Should Not Fear Threats, Says Kejriwal
Kejriwal urged students and parents across the country to stay calm. He said children should not worry because everyone stood with them.
He described the country as one family and said people should not fear threats. He added that his legal team would support students during this period.
Meanwhile, Kejriwal said students did not attack anyone during the demonstration. He alleged that security forces continued using force against them.
After the press conference, Kejriwal visited Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital in Delhi. Injured students from the protest received treatment there. He met the students and checked their condition.
