At first, the fiancée claimed Ketan slipped during trekking and fell into the gorge. However, police registered an accidental death report during early investigation stages. Additionally, mobile records revealed 2,004 calls between Siya and another accused. Furthermore, investigators flagged internet disconnection before the incident as highly suspicious.
Police uncover failed first murder attempt at Lohagad fort
Investigators revealed an earlier failed attempt on June 14 at the same fort location. Moreover, the accused allegedly tried to create panic using a snake scare tactic. However, Ketan did not react as expected and survived the situation. Consequently, the initial plan collapsed, forcing a second execution attempt later.
Second attempt executed during birthday trek plan at fort location
Police stated Siya planned a birthday trek at Lohagad fort on June 18. Additionally, co-accused Chetan Chaudhary joined the group during the second visit. Moreover, both allegedly pushed Ketan from a steep cliff edge. Consequently, Ketan fell nearly 400 feet and died instantly from injuries.
Investigation reveals long relationship, motive, and digital evidence trail
Authorities said Siya was in a year-long relationship with Chetan Chaudhary. Furthermore, investigators recorded 2,004 calls between January and June 18. Additionally, police noted 238 hours of conversation between both accused individuals. Consequently, investigators suspect motive linked to relationship conflict and planned elimination.
