The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released major updates for NEET UG 2026 candidates. The exam will be conducted on June 21, 2026. The agency has increased the exam duration to 195 minutes. This extension will allow students better time management while attempting questions. In addition, more space for rough work will be provided inside the question paper. NTA stated that these measures are based on student feedback and aim to make the examination process easier.
Extended Exam Duration and Schedule
NTA confirmed that the NEET UG 2026 exam will now last 195 minutes. It will begin at 2 PM and conclude at 5:15 PM. The total time includes attendance verification and essential administrative procedures. This extension ensures that students do not feel rushed during the examination. It also helps mitigate stress caused by procedural delays at exam centers.
Enhanced Rough Work Pages for Students
The question paper now provides more space for rough calculations and diagrammatic work. Previously, rough work pages were available only at the end of the paper. NTA has now included rough work pages at the beginning. This change will help students organize calculations efficiently. It also allows better use of time for solving lengthy questions. Students can now comfortably draft diagrams and perform calculations without flipping pages repeatedly.
NTA Guidelines for Exam Day
Candidates must carefully follow instructions mentioned in their admit cards and information bulletins. They should ensure they comply with all exam center rules. NTA emphasized that these updates are meant to benefit students and streamline examination procedures. The agency also reiterated that these measures aim to make the process more candidate-friendly.
