Mamata Claims TMC Will Fight Till Last Vote

After BJP’s strong trends, Mamata Banerjee said, “I had already said we will stay firm.” Then she added, “We will fight until the last vote count.” Moreover, she said, “The final round will reveal our vote share.” After that, Mamata claimed, “We will win.” She also alleged, “These people use central forces against our workers.” Further, she said, “Counting moves slowly where we win.” Still, she repeated, “We will win.” Finally, Mamata said she had told workers yesterday to stay on the ground.

BJP Leads On Key Bengal Seats

BJP’s dominance looks clear in the trends. The party leads on 194 seats. Meanwhile, Trinamool Congress leads on 92 seats. Also, BJP leads in Mekhliganj, Mathabhanga, Cooch Behar North, and Cooch Behar South. Besides that, it leads in Sitalkuchi, Sitai, Dinhata, and Natabari. Further, BJP leads in Tufanganj, Kumargram, Kalchini, and Alipurduar. Additionally, it leads in Falakata, Madarihat, Dhupguri, Maynaguri, Jalpaiguri, and Rajganj.

Bengal Sees Another Political Turn

West Bengal politics has turned again. After 34 years of Left rule, voters trusted Mamata Banerjee in 2011. Then, they backed her “Maa, Mati, Manush” slogan. Consequently, Mamata formed the state government. However, after 15 years of her rule, Bengal now feels another “porivartan” wave. For the first time, BJP moves toward a historic Bengal victory. Meanwhile, Trinamool Congress appears to shrink into double digits. Therefore, BJP’s Bengal conquest dream now looks close.

BJP’s Old Bengal Dream Nears Reality

BJP has long dreamed of blooming the lotus on Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee’s land. Dr Mukherjee founded Jana Sangh. Now, that decades-old dream appears close to reality. Also, BJP’s eastern India dream now covers three regions. These include Anga in Bihar, Kalinga in Odisha, and Banga in Bengal.

From One MLA To Government Push

In the 1990s, BJP had only one MLA in Bengal Assembly. That legislator was Badal Bhattacharya. Also, the party had two MPs, Tapan Sikdar and Satyabrata Mukherjee. From one MLA and two MPs, BJP now moves toward forming Bengal’s government. Therefore, attention now turns to the reasons behind BJP’s historic rise. Also, the result raises questions around Mamata Banerjee’s sharp defeat.
