A 37-year-old Bengaluru resident filed a formal police complaint against his 31-year-old wife Shilpa and her parents, alleging harassment, sexual misconduct, emotional abuse and forced eviction. The complainant, a resident of Nagarbhavi, married Shilpa at a private venue in Bengaluru. The couple subsequently moved into a villa in Jakkuru. Currently, police have registered the case and begun a formal investigation into the allegations.
In-Laws Allegedly Interfered and Threatened the Complainant
The man accused his mother-in-law Asha of restricting his access to the shared villa. Specifically, he alleged that Asha actively encouraged him to leave her daughter so she could find a more financially suitable partner. Furthermore, the complainant accused his father-in-law Madhav Krishna of sending individuals to the villa to threaten him directly. Together, these actions allegedly created a sustained environment of intimidation and interference throughout the marriage.
Wife Allegedly Mocked Financial Status and Engaged in Misconduct
The complainant stated that his wife repeatedly mocked his financial standing and expressed dissatisfaction with his ability to support her lifestyle. Additionally, he alleged that she spent significant time with wealthy friends and maintained a lifestyle involving frequent partying and alcohol consumption. However, the most serious allegations involve claims of sexual harassment and mental cruelty directed at the complainant himself.
Serious Allegations of Sexual Harassment and Coercion
Specifically, the man alleged that his wife subjected him to repeated sexual torture and sent him obscene videos. Furthermore, he claimed she pressured him to replicate acts shown in those videos. Additionally, the complainant alleged that his wife coerced him into intimate acts involving one of her friends and insisted on sharing details of their private life with others. He further stated that his wife openly admitted to maintaining extramarital affairs with former boyfriends during their marriage.
The complainant brought the matter to both families, and a formal mediation session took place on July 4, 2024. However, the mediation produced no resolution. Consequently, on September 24, 2024, the man alleged that he was thrown out of the villa while his wife was taken to Chennai by her mother. Specifically, he stated that he was permitted to take only his uniform and a laptop before leaving the shared home.
Cash, Gold and Personal Documents Allegedly Withheld
The complainant further alleged that several valuables remain unlawfully withheld at the villa. Specifically, the list includes cash amounting to Rs 1.87 lakh, a 44-gram gold choker, a 35-gram gold chain, an 18-gram gold bracelet and an 11-gram gold ring. Additionally, his passport, educational certificates and several household items remain at the property. Furthermore, the man claimed that wedding photos and videos stored on his laptop were deleted, adding significantly to his emotional distress.
Currently, the case involves active proceedings on both sides. Specifically, sources confirm that the wife has filed serious counter-allegations against the complainant. Sources confirm that the wife filed serious counter-allegations against the complainant independently. Additionally, authorities registered a separate FIR against the complainant in Tamil Nadu as well. Furthermore, an ongoing court matter between both parties connects directly to the Bengaluru complaint. Therefore, Bengaluru police are currently verifying all allegations and establishing a complete sequence of events. Authorities describe this as a complex marital dispute requiring thorough and careful investigation.
