Lucknow : Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took a major decision before Holi. He announced salary relief for teachers and government employees. Therefore, staff will receive February wages before the festival. Education Department issued a formal order immediately. Meanwhile, other departments began necessary preparations.
Moreover, the government fixed Saturday, 28 February, for payment. Lakhs of state employees will benefit from this step. Authorities circulated notices across all departments. Every office has started following the directive. Consequently, happiness spread among government workers statewide.
Education Department Issues Clear Instructions
School Education and State Project Director’s office directed salary release before 2 March. Uttar Pradesh School Education Director General Monica Rani issued the instruction. The order mentioned Holika Dahan on Monday, 2 March. It also referred to Holi celebration on Wednesday, 4 March.
Additionally, officials instructed directorates and Finance Department authorities to ensure advance payment. Therefore, employees must receive wages before Holika Dahan on 2 March.
Finance Department Clarifies Timing
Finance Department released a government notification explaining the schedule. Sunday, 1 March, falls on a holiday. Furthermore, Holika Dahan takes place on 2 March. Hence, salary distribution could not occur on those days.
After approval from Governor Anandiben Patel, authorities finalised the move. Subsequently, officials directed all district administrations to ensure payment by 28 February. The government also issued strict compliance instructions.
As a result, departments must complete transfers within the fixed timeline. The order aims to provide financial relief before Holi festivities.
