JPSC-JSSC Protest Escalates as Jharkhand Students Demand Camera-Facing Talks With Government

Jharkhand government sent officials for dialogue with protesting students, while students insisted on transparent discussions before accepting talks.

The Jharkhand government moved towards dialogue with students protesting over JPSC-JSSC and other demands. On Wednesday, Ranchi ADM and SDO Rajat reached the protest location. Officials from Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s office held talks with the protesting students. They presented the state government’s proposal before them.

Officials told students that the government wanted discussions with them. They said they arrived as representatives of the administration. Furthermore, officials requested students to form a five-member delegation. The government asked for names of five representatives to begin formal discussions.

Students Demand Transparent Meeting Before Accepting Talks

The government invited students for a discussion at 4 PM. However, students said they would not hold discussions inside a closed room. They demanded cameras and CCTV coverage during the meeting. Meanwhile, the SDO asked students to attend talks first. He said students could decide further actions afterward.

The administration continued efforts to convince students. Officials requested them to respect the Chief Minister’s message. However, students remained firm on their demand for an open discussion.

Dialogue Process Could Become First Step Towards Resolution

The government sent a formal proposal to the protesting students. Additionally, the Chief Minister’s message reached the movement leaders through officials. Ranchi ADM and SDO Rajat visited the protest site directly.

Officials explained that the government wanted a solution through discussions. They requested a five-member delegation for the meeting. If students agree to send representatives, it could become the first formal step towards ending the protest.

Students Continue 12-Day Movement Over Various Demands

Students have continued their protest for 12 days at Ranchi’s Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium. They have raised several demands, including issues related to JPSC and JSSC. Due to the ongoing deadlock, expectations for dialogue have increased.

Therefore, the state government decided to start talks with the protesters. Under this initiative, SDO and ADM Law and Order reached the stadium with the official proposal.
