Delhi Laxmi Yojana Brings ₹2,500 Monthly Support For Women, Check Eligibility Rules

Delhi government will begin online registration for Laxmi Yojana from August 1, offering monthly financial support to 17 lakh women.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced financial support for women across the capital. Under the Laxmi Yojana, eligible women will receive ₹2,500 every month. The online registration process will begin from August 1. Meanwhile, the government has fixed certain eligibility conditions for applicants. The scheme will benefit around 17 lakh women across Delhi.

Eligibility Rules Decided For Laxmi Yojana Benefits

According to the scheme guidelines, women aged between 21 and 60 years can apply. Additionally, families with annual income up to ₹2.5 lakh can receive benefits. However, income taxpayers, government employees, and other pension holders cannot apply. Women already receiving financial assistance will also remain ineligible for this scheme.

Furthermore, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta shared details through a post on social media platform X. She wrote that online registration for Delhi Laxmi Yojana will start from August 1. She urged eligible women to complete their registration process. She said the Delhi government will transfer ₹2,500 every month into their accounts.

First Instalment Expected During Raksha Bandhan

Rekha Gupta said more than 17 lakh women will receive the first instalment during Raksha Bandhan. The cabinet has approved the Laxmi Yojana. According to the chief minister, the government will distribute ₹5,110 crore every month among more than 17 lakh women.

Moreover, the government described this initiative as a step towards financial security and self-reliance for women.

Online Portal Introduced For Digital Applications

The Delhi government will launch an online portal from August 1, 2026. Women can submit applications through this digital platform. The entire process will remain digital and transparent.

Additionally, officials will conduct verification at the district level before approval. The government will also introduce a Transparent Grievance System for handling complaints.

Women Can Choose Between Two Payment Options

The government has provided two options under the scheme. In the first option, women will receive ₹1,500 through FD or RD accounts. The remaining ₹1,000 will come through a CBDC digital rupee wallet.

Meanwhile, the second option allows women to receive the complete ₹2,500 amount through FD or RD. The government believes this approach will encourage savings and improve financial security.
