In Delhi, opposition parties including Congress strongly protested in Parliament demanding Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation. Meanwhile, CJP continued their protest at Jantar Mantar. Abhijeet Dipke, CJP founder, said the demonstration will continue until Pradhan resigns. He expressed relief that Sonam Wangchuk ended his 26-day hunger strike, praising his courage and sacrifice, which inspired nationwide awareness. Dipke added that today’s meeting with central ministers will occur at a neutral location, emphasizing Pradhan’s resignation as the minimum acceptable outcome.
CJP Founder Abhijeet Dipke’s Firm Stand
Dipke asserted that the peaceful protest will remain active until the government meets their main demand. He highlighted that Sonam Wangchuk’s strike completion was crucial for public safety and national attention. He also reminded protesters that the government’s assurances guided the decision to temporarily pause certain activities, but the overall movement continues.
Congress Leaders Join Demonstration and Voice Support
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and other opposition leaders supported protesting students within Parliament and around its premises. Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi, Trinamool MP Sagarika Ghosh, and various other leaders joined. They shouted “We Want Justice” slogans, emphasizing urgent need for action. CPI(M) MP John Britas reinforced that Pradhan must resign, criticizing the government for appointing a controversial High Education Secretary. SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav also joined, pointing out systemic flaws in governance.
Parliamentary Proceedings Halted Due to Protests
On Friday, the Lok Sabha adjourned shortly after noon due to heated protests over Pradhan’s resignation demand. The Rajya Sabha faced a similar halt. Speaker Om Birla acknowledged Kargil Vijay Diwas and observed silence for soldiers’ supreme sacrifice. However, opposition members then raised NEET paper leak concerns and student protest issues, demanding government accountability. The Speaker assured members that Question Hour would proceed, allowing members to express concerns afterward.
CJP and Opposition Demand Justice and Accountability
Both CJP and opposition stressed that government must act on student issues, paper leaks, and protest responses. They warned that peaceful demonstrations will persist until Dharmendra Pradhan resigns. Members highlighted students’ rights, government inaction, and need for transparent accountability, reinforcing nationwide attention on education system reforms.
