Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge openly criticized PM Modi regarding student protests and NEET paper leak issues, emphasizing urgent action. He argued that students face injustice and their voices remain suppressed due to police lathi-charge, pellet guns, and shocking behavior. Kharge highlighted that youths need concrete solutions, not small announcements or speeches, to secure their educational future.

Education System Under Government’s Tenure
Kharge addressed the deterioration of India’s education system during the current government, urging immediate reforms. He stated that the system faces RSS influence and that unemployment among youths has risen dramatically. According to PLFS, the youth unemployment rate reached 29 percent, reflecting the scarcity of permanent government jobs and insufficient private sector opportunities. Kharge added that students cannot rely on hollow promises but require protective policies for a sustainable future.
Three Demands for Justice and Accountability
Kharge repeated three major demands: first, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan must resign immediately; second, the government must publicly apologize to students; third, authorities must ensure justice for students harmed during protests. He stressed that until these demands are met, the opposition cannot participate in meaningful parliamentary discussions.
Government’s Previous Announcement on NEET Paper Leak
Kharge’s criticism came after PM Modi announced fast-track courts for NEET paper leak cases, promising strict punishment for perpetrators. He pointed out that fast-track courts alone cannot restore faith if responsible officials fail to investigate, arrest, or file charge sheets on time. Kharge warned that youths will not accept symbolic action; they require thorough enforcement and accountability.
The Call for Action Beyond Words
Kharge emphasized that PM Modi must personally acknowledge student concerns, ensure reforms, and restore trust in the education system. He concluded that safeguarding student interests requires concrete measures, not just speeches, and that ignoring these will worsen public faith in governance.
