Azam, Atiq, Mukhtar Names Spark Poster War Against Akhilesh Yadav in UP

Ahead of the 2027 Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, posters targeting Samajwadi Party and Akhilesh Yadav appeared across cities, raising law and order questions.

Uttar Pradesh has witnessed a new political poster battle before the 2027 assembly elections. Posters targeting Samajwadi Party and its chief Akhilesh Yadav appeared in Lucknow and other cities. The posters raised questions about law and order during Akhilesh Yadav’s tenure as chief minister.

The posters carried slogans mentioning Azam Khan, Atiq Ahmed and Mukhtar Ansari. One poster stated, “Azam, Atiq and Mukhtar, they ran the government.” Another slogan read, “Akhilesh’s mafia, mafia’s Akhilesh.”

Posters target Samajwadi Party before elections

The posters mentioned several names linked with different regions of Uttar Pradesh. They included Atiq Ahmed, Mukhtar Ansari, Azam Khan and other figures. The posters also used the slogan “One district, one mafia.”

However, no official confirmation has emerged about the organisation or person behind these posters. Still, the message focuses on attacking SP over its previous government and law and order issues.

The posters appeared across several places including Lucknow, Unnao, Etawah, Sitapur, Bareilly, Meerut, Azamgarh and Ghazipur. These displays have intensified political discussions across the state.

In Moradabad, posters mentioned names like Atiq Ahmed, Mukhtar Ansari, Azam Khan, Yakub Qureshi and Anil Dujana. Through these posters, questions were raised about crime and influential figures during the Samajwadi Party government.

SP leaders remove posters, accuse BJP

Samajwadi Party leaders reacted against the posters in Moradabad. District president Jaiveer Singh Yadav and party workers removed several posters.

The leaders climbed poles to tear down the displays. Afterwards, they collected the removed posters in their vehicles.

Meanwhile, SP leaders alleged that the BJP feels threatened by the increasing support for PDA. They claimed the party uses such political campaigns to divert attention from inflation, unemployment and paper leak issues.

Political battle begins before 2027 elections

Although the Uttar Pradesh election remains some time away, political clashes have started appearing. Posters across Lucknow, western UP and Purvanchal targeted Akhilesh Yadav’s chief ministerial period.

The biggest point remains that the poster creators have not appeared publicly. Yet, the political message behind these displays remains clear.

Now, attention has shifted towards whether Samajwadi Party will respond with a similar poster campaign in the coming days.
