The Uttar Pradesh government changed departments of 10 senior IAS officers. The reshuffle comes amid complaints about electricity services in rural areas.
Through this administrative change, Ranveer Prasad received the energy department responsibility. Meanwhile, Amrit Abhijat received additional charge of the transport department.
The government also shifted Dr. Ashish Kumar Goyal from the energy department. He will now handle the labour and employment department.
Major changes in energy and health departments
The government moved Dr. Ashish Kumar Goyal from the energy department after repeated concerns over rural electricity services. Subsequently, Ranveer Prasad became principal secretary for energy and additional energy.
Along with this role, Ranveer Prasad received responsibilities for UP Power Corporation, Power Transmission Corporation, State Electricity Generation Corporation and UPSLDC.
Furthermore, Amit Kumar Ghosh moved from medical health, family welfare and medical education departments. He will now serve in the higher education department.
Meanwhile, V. Hekali Zhimomi received the medical education department charge. Earlier, she managed the forest and environment department.
Transport, agriculture and other departments see changes
Amrit Abhijat will continue with tourism, culture and religious affairs departments. Additionally, he received the additional charge of principal secretary transport.
Moreover, Dr. MKS Sundaram became principal secretary for agriculture, agricultural education and research. He will also manage agricultural marketing, foreign trade and export promotion departments.
Ravindra received the responsibility of principal secretary panchayati raj. However, Anil Kumar moved from panchayati raj to food and logistics responsibilities.
Anil Kumar will now serve as principal secretary food and civil supplies, consumer affairs and commissioner food and logistics.
Additionally, Mahendra Prasad Agrawal moved from higher education. He became principal secretary forest, environment and climate change.
Finally, Amit Gupta received additional responsibility for technical education. He will continue handling stamp and registration departments.
