A mother and her son filed a complaint with observer Ajay Pal Sharma, alleging that TMC members threatened them with murder if they entered their home.

Allegations of Threats in Falta

The incident took place at polling booth number 204 in Falta. After voting, Dilip Mandal and his mother received threats, warning them not to return home. The threats escalated, with claims of violence if they defied the instructions. The pair approached the election observer, Ajay Pal Sharma, for assistance. Sharma assured them of safety.

Violent Incidents During Voting

Reports of violence have been frequent across various polling locations in West Bengal. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) was deployed to stop violence and bombings. Despite this, clashes continued. In South 24 Parganas, BJP candidate Bikash Sardar was attacked, and his vehicle was damaged. Sardar expressed his concern, stating that there was no security for candidates. He highlighted that if even candidates were unsafe, how could ordinary people be protected?
