Jharkhand students’ movement achieved success after a prolonged protest. The Hemant Soren government accepted all demands raised by students. The development came on the 23rd day of protests and the 16th day of hunger strike. Consequently, students celebrated their victory. To congratulate them, scientist and social activist Sonam Wangchuk contacted student leader Devendra Nath Mahto through a video call. During the conversation, Mahto became emotional. He credited Wangchuk as an inspiration behind their struggle.
Devendra Mahto Credits Wangchuk for Strength During Protest
During the video call, Sonam Wangchuk congratulated Mahto after the government accepted student demands. Wangchuk said, “Your demands have been accepted, and I want to congratulate you.” Mahto responded emotionally and thanked him for his guidance.
Mahto said, “With your guidance, inspiration and blessings, we continued this fight.” He added that students achieved success on the 16th day of hunger strike and 23rd day of movement. Furthermore, he expressed respect and requested Wangchuk’s continued blessings. Mahto said Wangchuk’s support gave their struggle greater strength.
Wangchuk Thanks Government and Praises Students’ Commitment
Sonam Wangchuk praised Devendra Nath Mahto and all students for their dedication. He also thanked the Jharkhand government and Chief Minister. Wangchuk said he felt concerned about the students’ situation. He mentioned that his own health was not good. However, he had sent his people to check whether Mahto needed any help.
Soon after, Wangchuk received the positive news about the protest outcome. He expressed happiness over the students’ hard work and commitment. Moreover, he congratulated every student involved in the movement. Wangchuk also appreciated the Jharkhand government and Chief Minister.
He hoped citizens and governments would continue working together. According to Wangchuk, they should address every issue whenever they notice shortcomings. He shared his expectations and good wishes for future efforts.
Students Demand Better Recruitment System After Victory
Mahto said Wangchuk’s blessings strengthened their voice and struggle. He added that Wangchuk’s support gave students significant confidence. Therefore, he requested continued guidance and blessings from the social activist.
Meanwhile, Mahto said students across Jharkhand were celebrating the achievement. He called it a major victory for the movement. However, he also focused on future reforms in education.
Mahto said students want an education system with government guarantees. He demanded protection against paper leaks, unfair practices and job selections through recommendations. Furthermore, he argued that recruitment institutions have become like industries today. He clarified that such institutions should not work for profit.
