The Incident in Detail
Shruti stayed in Radhe Krishna Hostel, Secretariat Colony, Patna, preparing for NEET since 2024. On Tuesday, 2 June, her body was found hanging in her room, where she studied day and night. Investigators reported the horrifying scene after her evening meal the previous night.
Personal Struggles and Family Dynamics
Shruti returned to Patna from her village ten days earlier. Friends revealed she repeatedly said, “Mom and Dad do not talk to me.” This lack of communication added to her stress and emotional isolation.
Forensic and Police Investigation
Police and forensic teams examined the room and completed their investigation. Authorities sent Shruti’s body for post-mortem and later handed it to her family.
Earlier NEET Suicide: Akanksha’s Tragedy
Previously, Akanksha Chaturvedi from Mauganj, Madhya Pradesh, also ended her life due to NEET paper leak trauma. Her parents described her as brilliant and enthusiastic. The leak shattered her confidence, causing her to stop eating and communicating.

Akanksha belonged to a modest family. Her father borrowed ₹15 lakh via a farmer credit card to support her medical career dream. The paper leak destroyed her hopes, leading her to feel she had let her parents down. She left a note expressing the burden was unbearable.
