Kaushambi Firecracker Blast Triggers Major Action As Police Officials Face Suspension

Authorities have taken major action after Monday’s deadly firecracker factory explosion in Kaushambi, Uttar Pradesh. Prayagraj Range IG Ajay Mishra ordered action against seven police officials. The department suspended one inspector along with six sub-inspectors. Meanwhile, Kaushambi SP Satyanarayan Prajapat sent Pipri station in-charge Vikas Singh to the police lines. Officials also acted against Chail outpost in-charge Amit Dwivedi and former officer Manish Pal. Beat constables Jitendra Kumar and Krishna Kumar also faced immediate suspension.

Why Did Officials Face Punishment?

Police accused these personnel of failing to record information about the factory’s operation. Authorities also cited negligence while taking disciplinary action. Therefore, the action now raises questions about oversight surrounding the factory. The case remains under investigation as officials examine events surrounding the explosion.

Main Accused Naushad Arrested After Encounter

Police arrested Naushad after an encounter linked to the factory blast. He had remained missing since Monday’s explosion at Manauri, within Pipri station limits. Later, an informer alerted police about his attempted escape near Teramile, within Charwa station limits. Consequently, the Special Operations Group and police teams surrounded the area. Seeing himself cornered, Naushad opened fire at officers. Police returned fire, hitting his leg before making the arrest. Officers recovered a country-made pistol and cartridges from his possession. Subsequently, doctors admitted the injured accused to hospital.

Six Others Named In The Case

Investigators also named Naushad’s brother Shakeel in the case. Authorities included his wife Kahkashan Bano among the accused. Shakeel’s wife Shabana also faces charges. Naushad’s son Adil and Shakeel’s daughter Saina also feature in the case. Meanwhile, police teams continue searching for those still missing.

Blast Killed 11, Injured Six

The explosion occurred around 11 am Monday at the Manauri firecracker factory. The blast has claimed 11 lives so far. Six people suffered serious injuries during the incident. Doctors continue treating them at Prayagraj’s SRN Hospital. Furthermore, the force damaged nearby homes severely. Around six houses collapsed completely, while more than a dozen suffered damage. Rescue teams searched through debris after the blast.

Yogi Announces Financial Assistance

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed grief over the tragedy. He announced ₹2 lakh assistance for every deceased victim’s family. Additionally, injured victims will receive ₹50,000 each. Yogi also directed officials to ensure proper medical treatment for those hurt.

MP Pushpendra Saroj Questions Administration

Samajwadi Party MP Pushpendra Saroj visited the blast site and called the tragedy extremely painful. He questioned how an alleged illegal firecracker factory operated within a densely populated area. According to Saroj, authorities should investigate who allowed such operations. He said officials had recovered 11 bodies from the scene. He also mentioned missing resident Sunil Maurya, whose family continues searching for his body. Finally, Saroj demanded proper assistance and reassurance for affected families while questioning accountability for the disaster.
