During the interaction, spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal shared updates regarding India’s diplomatic engagement. According to him, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar held multiple discussions with Iran’s foreign minister. These talks have continued since the crisis began.
Three Conversations Between Jaishankar And Iranian Counterpart
Moreover, Jaiswal confirmed that Jaishankar spoke with his Iranian counterpart three separate times. During these conversations, both sides discussed several important issues. Notably, discussions focused mainly on energy supply and shipping routes. However, Jaiswal explained that sharing further details at this moment would be premature.
India Relocates Thousands Of Citizens From Iran
Meanwhile, the spokesperson revealed another important update regarding Indian nationals in Iran. Currently, approximately 9,000 Indians remain inside the country. Therefore, authorities are shifting them toward safer locations. These individuals include students, businesspersons, sailors, and pilgrims.
Advisory Issued Earlier By Indian Government
Earlier, the Indian government issued an advisory on February 24. Following this advisory, several citizens already returned to India. Moreover, after attacks by the United States and Israel began, relocation efforts increased further. Consequently, many Indians, especially students, moved toward safer places.
