Why Modi Asked People To Rethink Gold Purchases
Modi appealed to citizens to avoid buying gold when they do not need it. He also discouraged unnecessary foreign trips for leisure. According to him, people should adopt habits that contribute towards a self-reliant India. Meanwhile, he stressed the importance of following the “local for vocal” principle. He also urged citizens to live the Made in India message through their daily choices.
‘Wedding In India’ Gets A Push
The Prime Minister also encouraged families to organise weddings within India. He said domestic celebrations can benefit several parts of the economy. These include tourism, hotels, catering, textiles and jewellery businesses. Furthermore, large events can create opportunities for businesses and workers across different regions. Hence, Modi asked citizens to encourage spending within India.
Global Challenges Did Not Stop India’s Growth
Modi pointed to the difficult global environment while discussing India’s latest performance. Several places face war, while supply chains have also faced disruptions. Global stability has not fully returned after the coronavirus pandemic. Nevertheless, Modi said India continues to move forward rapidly. He described the latest growth as a reason for citizens to remain confident.
The 2047 Goal Remains The Bigger Target
Modi also repeated the goal of making India a developed country by 2047. He said today’s efforts can help fulfil the dreams of future generations. Therefore, citizens should contribute with honesty and sustained effort. He added that government policies remain on the right path. According to Modi, the collective strength of 140 crore Indians can take India towards new heights. Finally, he urged people to celebrate the achievement while taking fresh commitments. He stressed that commitments require continuous effort for successful completion.
