CJP workers faced strong opposition during a government school inspection in Jaipur’s Bagru area on Friday. Villagers followed their vehicles and damaged several cars during the confrontation. A scuffle also broke out at the Rajkiya Prathmik School in Rampura Kanwarpura. Later, villagers pushed the workers outside the village and staged a sit-in outside the school.
CJP co-convenor Ashutosh Ranka alleged that the school had operated inside a buffalo enclosure for years. He said the team visited the same school last year. According to Ranka, BJP workers reached there before their inspection team. He alleged that volunteers faced an assault despite media presence and police information. Ranka claimed vehicles and phones suffered damage during the incident. He also alleged an attack involving stones, while one woman faced physical assault. He further claimed that his shirt was torn and another team member suffered a broken hand.
Meanwhile, CJP worker Shivangi Sharma questioned the outsiders-versus-locals argument. She said the group came from the same country and wanted to discuss children’s concerns.
Ranka also gave Education Minister Madan Dilawar 48 hours for action. He demanded arrests and withdrawal of the alleged order restricting their activities. Otherwise, he threatened a statewide movement and demanded the minister’s resignation.
School conditions become central to the dispute
Villagers and BJP workers said the government approved around ₹12.50 lakh for school improvements. They said locals would handle the work without allowing outside organisations to inspect the premises.
However, the school’s poor condition also emerged during the dispute. Officials closed the building after broken slabs raised safety concerns. Children now study under a tin shed inside a nearby enclosure. The temporary facility stands around 50 metres away. Animal fodder lies nearby, while bricks have fallen from damaged walls.
Ranka alleged restrictions prevent public and media access to government schools. He said CJP would continue highlighting actual conditions despite such orders.
The team planned another inspection at Bhatta Wala Government School on Vatika Road. It would assess teaching, student facilities, buildings and other arrangements. Members also planned discussions with teachers and students.
Meanwhile, the Rampura Kanwarpura protest continues. The dispute now extends beyond one inspection into a wider debate over school conditions and outside access.
