‘I Will Answer Every Question’: Amit Shah Challenges Opposition as Parliament Deadlock Reaches Final Day

Amit Shah offered a full parliamentary debate and fixed a response deadline, while Rahul Gandhi demanded answers over action against protesting students.

Amid the Monsoon Session deadlock, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said he stands ready to answer every question. Moreover, Shah placed responsibility for starting discussion on the opposition. He asked opposition leaders to submit a written request seeking debate. Shah promised that he would respond inside Parliament.

Immediately after Shah’s remarks, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi issued a sharp response. Gandhi said the opposition had no interest in listening to Amit Shah’s speeches. Instead, he wanted to know who ordered firing against children.

Shah then targeted opposition parties over their conduct during the ongoing standoff. He said the government would also discuss why those leaders avoided debate. According to Shah, the NDA government under Prime Minister Modi remains ready for discussion on every subject. However, he accused opposition members of preventing Parliament from functioning.

Shah Sets Timeline and Says He Will Personally Attend Discussion

The Home Minister also responded to words such as “missing”, “ran away”, and “fugitive”. Shah questioned why he should enter Parliament when opposition members prevent both Houses from functioning.

Nevertheless, he repeated his readiness to answer every question inside the legislature. Shah offered discussion from 3 pm today until 3 pm tomorrow. Furthermore, he asked opposition leaders to submit a letter before 2 pm. They must send that request to Speaker Om Birla.

According to Shah, discussion could begin at 3 pm today. He promised to provide his response by 3 pm tomorrow. Additionally, Shah said he would personally remain present throughout the debate.

He argued that opposition parties must now choose between discussion and disruption. Shah also said the government has nothing to hide. Moreover, he promised debate over why opposition members prevented proceedings.

Student Protest Lathi-Charge and Ram Mandir Issue Drive the Deadlock

The current confrontation began after police action during a student protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar. Following the lathi-charge, opposition parties intensified attacks against the government. They have repeatedly demanded an answer from Amit Shah.

Meanwhile, continuing opposition protests have prevented Parliament from functioning normally. Tomorrow marks the final day of the Monsoon Session.

On Monday, the government claimed Shah remained prepared to respond. However, it accused opposition parties of running away and shifting the goalposts.

Afterwards, opposition leaders clarified their demands. They sought discussion over the Delhi lathi-charge and Ram Mandir matter. Furthermore, they said neither issue would allow any compromise
