YouTube introduced a new feature designed to help content creators grow their audience. The platform named this update Translated Thumbnails. Through this tool creators can upload thumbnails in different languages. Consequently the feature helps videos reach viewers speaking various languages. When users open YouTube in their preferred language the platform displays thumbnails in that language. Therefore viewers see content more relevant to them. As a result creators gain higher views and increased earnings from videos.
Feature Also Works For Previously Uploaded Videos
YouTube explained that creators can upload translated thumbnails for older videos as well. Creators who already publish videos in different languages can use this option effectively. Consequently the reach of those videos can expand significantly. The feature especially helps creators targeting audiences speaking multiple languages. Moreover the system works for both newly uploaded videos and older uploads. Therefore creators can improve visibility of previously published content.
How The Translated Thumbnails Feature Works
Previously YouTube allowed creators to upload only one thumbnail for each video. However the new feature introduces the option to upload multiple thumbnails. Creators can choose any language including Hindi, English, Portuguese, Spanish, or Bengali. When a Hindi-speaking viewer sees the video in the feed the thumbnail appears in Hindi. Meanwhile an English-speaking viewer sees the thumbnail in English. Consequently YouTube’s algorithm automatically selects the appropriate thumbnail based on user language.
How Creators Upload Thumbnails For Older Videos
Creators must open YouTube Studio to upload translated thumbnails for existing videos. Inside the studio dashboard creators can add additional thumbnails in different languages. They can upload those thumbnails alongside the main thumbnail. Consequently viewers from different language backgrounds receive localized thumbnails.
