WhatsApp is testing several new features that will soon roll out for both Android and iPhone users. Additionally, the company plans a new chat interface and potential paid subscription plans.
New Chat Interface and Design Updates
WhatsApp is working on enhancing the chat interface. The upcoming update will feature a new design with more rounded and modern message bubbles. After the update, text messages and multimedia, such as photos and videos, will have a fresh look. This change aims to give users a cleaner, more modern chatting experience.
Unseen Contacts’ Status Updates
Currently, WhatsApp only allows users to view status updates from saved contacts. However, the company is expanding this feature. Soon, users will be able to see status updates from contacts they’ve recently interacted with, even if they are not saved in their contact list.
WhatsApp Plus: The Upcoming Subscription Plan
Recent reports suggest WhatsApp may introduce a new subscription plan called WhatsApp Plus. Although the exact pricing details are not available, this plan is expected to offer extra features. These may include the ability to pin up to 20 chats, special themes, and custom ringtones. Despite the introduction of the paid plan, WhatsApp will remain free for regular users. Users will still be able to make calls, send messages, and share files without paying any fees.
