Maharashtra politics witnessed fresh turbulence as Shiv Sena UBT faced renewed internal uncertainty.
Arvind Sawant made a major claim regarding six MPs who moved away from the UBT group.
He stated that two of these MPs may return due to unmet promises by Eknath Shinde.
According to Sawant, these MPs did not sign official documents because commitments were not fulfilled.
Furthermore, Sawant believes the two MPs will attend the upcoming parliamentary party meeting.
He also said he trusts all nine MPs in the UBT parliamentary group.
Meanwhile, he stressed confidence in his party’s internal unity despite ongoing speculation.
Whip Meeting Called as Loyalty Test Approaches
Earlier, Arvind Sawant issued a whip and called a parliamentary party meeting.
He wants all nine MPs to attend the scheduled session.
Importantly, the meeting is set for today at 11:00 AM.
In addition, UBT leadership has instructed members to avoid remarks against rebel MPs.
The party believes all six MPs are still not fully aligned with the Shinde faction.
However, official confirmation of signed letters sent to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla remains unclear.
Operation Tiger Timeline Triggers Political Shockwaves
Notably, “Operation Tiger” discussions began on 10 June involving Amit Shah and Eknath Shinde.
On the same day, Amit Shah and CM Devendra Fadnavis approved the operation plan.
Later, UBT MPs travelled to Delhi and met Shinde in a five-star hotel.
On 14 June, UBT held a parliamentary meeting at Uddhav Thackeray’s residence.
Several MPs attended physically, while others joined online discussions.
However, some MPs remained absent from the meeting.
Subsequently, developments escalated on 16 and 17 June with MPs moving between Delhi and Mumbai.
By 17 June, a press conference confirmed formation of a separate group and letter submission to Speaker Om Birla.
Finally, on 18 June, UBT issued a whip and scheduled a crucial meeting to test loyalty.
The outcome will determine the party’s internal strength and future direction.
