‘Friend’ Remark By PM Modi Draws Reactions

During April 16 debate, PM Modi addressed the House and mentioned Akhilesh Yadav. He said, “Akhilesh ji is my friend, so sometimes he helps me.” After hearing this remark, Akhilesh smiled and folded his hands. Meanwhile, Dimple Yadav, seated behind him, also smiled.

In his post on X, PM Modi described the ongoing discussion on the amendment. He stated that debate on the Nari Shakti Vandan Act continued until 1 am. He added that members received reasoned answers to doubts. He also said all concerns found clear responses. Additionally, he mentioned that members received missing information.

PM Modi stated that politics on women reservation continued for four decades. Therefore, he urged members to ensure rights for half the population. He said low representation of women in decision-making remains concerning. As voting approached, he requested all parties to decide carefully. He urged members to support the bill.

PM Modi addressed MPs again and spoke on behalf of the country’s women. He urged members not to hurt the sentiments of Nari Shakti. He stated that crores of women watch every decision closely. Therefore, he asked everyone to support the amendment fully.

In another X post, PM Modi asked MPs to remember their families. He mentioned mothers, sisters, daughters, and wives. He urged them to listen to their inner voice before voting. He called this moment a chance to serve women. He said unanimous support would strengthen women and democracy. Finally, he urged members to create history together.
