Petroleum Minister Hardeep Puri addressed concerns regarding the gas crisis inside Parliament. He stated clearly that the country has enough LPG cylinders available. Therefore, citizens should avoid panic. Additionally, authorities ordered strict measures to stop black marketing.
According to the minister, rural consumers can book another LPG cylinder after forty five days. Meanwhile, urban users can place another booking after twenty five days.
India’s Crude Oil Supply Remains Secure
Meanwhile, Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri spoke in the Lok Sabha. He stated that modern energy history rarely witnessed such circumstances worldwide. However, India’s crude supply situation remains secure.
Earlier, around forty five percent crude imports arrived through the Strait of Hormuz route. However, strong diplomatic outreach by the Prime Minister ensured alternate supply arrangements. Consequently, India secured crude volumes equal to supplies earlier arriving through the Strait of Hormuz.
Minister Says LPG Supply Remains Sufficient
Meanwhile, the minister also addressed concerns regarding LPG availability. He stated that refineries increased LPG production significantly during the past five days. Production increased by twenty eight percent following refinery directives.
Additionally, further LPG procurement continues actively. The Modi government prioritizes uninterrupted kitchen supply for thirty three crore Indian households. Especially, authorities focus on supporting poor and vulnerable families. Therefore, domestic LPG supply remains completely secure. Moreover, delivery cycles remain unchanged across the country.
Minister Warns Against Rumors
Meanwhile, Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi raised the LPG issue in Parliament. He claimed that restaurants faced shutdowns due to LPG problems. Furthermore, he stated that panic regarding LPG availability affected small businesses.
However, Minister Hardeep Puri rejected these claims strongly. He said this moment demands responsibility instead of rumors. According to him, India currently faces one of the most serious global energy disruptions in history.
Nevertheless, essential supplies continue normally. Gas distribution prioritizes households and agricultural needs across the country.
