Barapulla Elevated Road Phase-3 and Delhi-Mumbai Expressway link road will open for public by June 2026. Moreover, these projects aim to ease daily congestion in East Delhi and Noida. The Barapulla Phase-3 connects Mayur Vihar Phase-1 to Sarai Kale Khan, providing signal-free travel to AIIMS. Additionally, the DND link road from Kalindi Kunj to the expressway will relieve traffic jams at Kalindi Kunj Chowk.
Barapulla Elevated Road Phase-3 Details
The 3.5 km Barapulla Elevated Road runs above Yamuna river and greenery, connecting Mayur Vihar to Sarai Kale Khan. Consequently, travel time from Mayur Vihar to AIIMS reduces from 45–90 minutes to 15–20 minutes. Furthermore, it benefits residents of Mayur Vihar, Laxmi Nagar, Preet Vihar, Noida, Anand Vihar, South Delhi, AIIMS, Lajpat Nagar, and beyond. Construction began in 2014 and, despite land acquisition delays, finished with a total cost of Rs 1,635 crore.
Delhi-Mumbai Expressway Link Road Details
The 9 km DND Link Road near Sarai Kale Khan costs approximately Rs 1,836 crore. It provides entry and exit points for commuters from Noida, Ashram, and Sarai Kale Khan. Moreover, obstacles from canal pillars were resolved with a 130-meter steel arch bridge. Once completed, the road will reduce Kalindi Kunj traffic jams and ease travel to South, Central Delhi, Faridabad, Gurugram, Palwal, Sohna, and even Jaipur.
Daily Time, Fuel, and Pollution Savings
Upon opening, commuters can save 30–45 minutes daily. Furthermore, reduced travel decreases petrol consumption and lowers pollution levels. Recently, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari inspected the projects and confirmed completion, targeting opening by 30 June 2026.
Partial Access Already Available
Currently, 50 km of the DND link road is operational. Moreover, once the remaining 9 km opens, full connectivity will relieve congestion and improve daily commuting efficiency.
