Bengal Election Result Live: Bhawanipur Count Freeze Deepens Bengal Drama As Mamata May Meet Governor Soon

As BJP surges in Bengal and TMC appears below 100 seats, Mamata Banerjee reaches the counting centre and alleges BJP action.

West Bengal’s election drama intensified as BJP raised its flag in the Assembly contest. Meanwhile, TMC appeared to stay within 100 seats. During this tense phase, Mamata Banerjee’s statement came into focus. Also, reports said she may meet the Governor of West Bengal soon.

Mamata Banerjee still remains present at the counting centre. Moreover, Suvendu Adhikari also stays inside the same centre. In Bhawanipur, counting has remained stopped for nearly one hour. Therefore, the situation around the centre has drawn sharp attention.

Mamata Banerjee reached the Shekhawat Memorial counting centre. However, Suvendu Adhikari had already reached there before her. After arriving, Mamata made a serious allegation. She said BJP has been looting their counting centre.

Election Commission Releases Two Seat Results

Meanwhile, the Election Commission released results for two Assembly seats in West Bengal. In Monteswar, BJP candidate Saikat Panja defeated the TMC candidate. He won the seat by 14,798 votes.

On the other hand, TMC candidate Reyat Hussain Sarkar won from Bhagawangola. He registered victory by 56,407 votes. Thus, both declared results gave separate outcomes for BJP and TMC.

Sukanta Majumdar Claims Ram Raj In Bengal

As early trends showed BJP ahead, Union Minister Sukanta Majumdar reacted on Monday. He said the early results indicate a major political change in West Bengal. Moreover, he claimed that “Ram Raj” would come to the state.

While speaking to journalists, Majumdar said, “This is only the beginning.” Then, he added that two-three counting rounds had finished. Also, he said postal ballots had been counted. However, he argued that early trends clearly showed BJP could form the government.

Majumdar further said, “Ram Raj will be established in West Bengal.” Therefore, BJP leaders framed the early trends as a historic political shift. Meanwhile, Mamata’s presence at the counting centre kept Bhawanipur at the centre of the day’s suspense.
