Dramatic Appeal Captured Attention
During the public meeting at the Kolkata BJP state office in Salt Lake, a woman stunned the crowd. She carried her disabled husband on her back to personally submit a petition to the Chief Minister.
Security personnel at the office gate screened her before allowing entry, while staff ensured orderly reception of grievances.
Specific Demands
The woman requested a wheelchair and housing support for her husband, emphasizing urgent needs for disability assistance. Her petition highlighted gaps in accessibility and government provisions for differently-abled individuals within urban areas.
Cultural and Civic Participation
Artists and singers also attended, complaining about neglect during the previous TMC government’s cultural programs. They alleged only select performers close to TMC leadership received opportunities while others were ignored.
A cancer patient additionally sought employment assistance to support family needs while undergoing treatment.
Administration Statement
Officials confirmed that Janata Darbar provided a platform for citizens to submit grievances related to various social and civic issues. They emphasized the administration’s commitment to listening to citizens and addressing concerns efficiently.
