Delhi has witnessed deadly AC blasts recently, including in Hauz Khas, where a retired IAS officer died. Previously, in Vivek Vihar, nine people lost their lives in an AC fire. These incidents highlight the urgent need to recognize warning signals.
Key Warning Signs of AC Blast
Before an AC explodes, several signs appear. Firstly, unusual or loud noises coming from the unit indicate potential danger. Secondly, strange odors emitting from the AC could signal a gas leak or electrical fault. Thirdly, sparks inside the unit often precede a major blast. Additionally, visible smoke from the AC signals overheating or fire risk. Detecting any of these signs should immediately alert you to take action.
Immediate Steps to Stay Safe
If any warning signs appear, take three critical steps. First, immediately turn off the AC from the power socket. Second, call a certified technician to inspect and repair the unit. Third, if fire starts, contact the fire brigade without delay.
Mistakes to Avoid
Never turn the AC back on immediately after detecting warning signs. Doing so could result in severe injury, property damage, or death. Always ensure inspection and safety checks are completed before resuming use.
