Government Warns of Strict Action
Officials warned that strict action will follow if hoarding or irregularities are discovered. Authorities emphasized that they will not allow public inconvenience. Consequently, the government expects supply conditions to stabilize across the state soon.
Situation in Bareilly and Pilibhit
In Bareilly, people are rushing to buy black market cylinders. Additionally, sellers are charging ₹200 to ₹500 extra for black cylinders. Meanwhile, some buyers are using personal contacts to obtain cylinders. In Pilibhit, black market sellers are charging ₹100 to ₹200 above normal rates.
Cylinder Supply Situation in Meerut
In Meerut, authorities are prioritizing paper slips instead of online bookings. However, black market cylinders remain difficult to obtain. Additionally, black market prices have crossed ₹1400 in some locations. Meanwhile, customers holding slips are receiving cylinders at regular rates.
Fuel and Cylinder Prices in Other Cities
In Mirzapur, cylinders are selling for ₹1300 in the market. However, customers with confirmed bookings are paying normal prices. Meanwhile, in Ghaziabad, sellers are charging ₹100 above cylinder prices. Additionally, reports indicate extra charges for commercial cylinders in several places.
Black Market Activity in Gorakhpur
In Gorakhpur, buyers are paying ₹250 to ₹300 extra for cylinders purchased in black markets. Moreover, confirmation codes for bookings are not arriving quickly. Consequently, delays are creating difficulty in receiving cylinders.
Allegations of Black Marketing in Lakhimpur Kheri
In Lakhimpur Kheri, allegations of black marketing surfaced at a Bharat Gas agency. Employees are reportedly selling commercial cylinders illegally. The official MRP is ₹1777, but customers are paying up to ₹2200. However, the district supply officer released a video message addressing rumors. He clarified that gas prices have not increased officially.
Situation in Kanpur, Varanasi, and Ayodhya
In Kanpur city, booking confirmation messages are not reaching customers. Therefore, people are visiting agencies directly. Meanwhile, domestic cylinders in black markets cost ₹200 to ₹250 extra. Additionally, commercial cylinders cost ₹400 to ₹500 extra. In Varanasi, domestic cylinders sell in black markets for ₹200 extra. Furthermore, commercial cylinders require about ₹300 additional payment. In Ayodhya, domestic cylinders are also sold with ₹200 extra charges. However, commercial cylinders are not available there.
