Recently, Rahul Gandhi organised the fourth edition in Pune, Maharashtra. Now, reports suggest Nagpur could host the next programme.
The initiative aims to highlight student voices against issues affecting education and employment.
Pune event gains attention before Nagpur plan
The Maharashtra Congress suggested the Nagpur programme after Rahul Gandhi’s August 22 Pune event.
During the Pune edition, Rahul interacted with students on several concerns. These included women’s freedom, education and tribal student issues.
According to the party, the programme received a strong response. Several videos from the event also went viral on social media.
Additionally, many senior Congress leaders attended the programme. Party leaders said Rahul selected Pune, Nagpur and Latur for student interactions.
The first phase already took place in Pune. Meanwhile, dates for Nagpur and Latur remain undecided.
Nagpur plan carries political significance
The possible Nagpur event also has a political angle behind it.
Recently, Rahul Gandhi targeted BJP, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, RSS and chief Mohan Bhagwat in Pune.
His remarks focused on Manusmriti and related issues. Therefore, leaders suggested holding the next student programme in Nagpur.
Nagpur houses the RSS headquarters and remains known as a BJP stronghold. Hence, Rahul Gandhi may use the platform to raise political issues.
However, Rahul Gandhi’s office has not finalised the programme date yet.
