Ajit Doval Warns Against Mistaking India’s Tolerance for Weakness, Revisits Operation Sindoor

The NSA says India can take risks and respond firmly, while a new docuseries explores decisions behind the 88-hour military operation.

National Security Adviser Ajit Doval said mistaking India’s generosity and tolerance for weakness would constitute a serious error. He added that India can take risks whenever circumstances demand action. Moreover, the country can deliver a strong response without worrying about consequences.

Doval made these remarks in Discovery’s upcoming docuseries, Declassified: Operation Sindoor. The reference describes this appearance as his first interview following Operation Sindoor.

According to Doval, the military campaign continued for 88 hours. Its primary objective involved destroying terrorist locations belonging to the enemy. In particular, forces targeted sites linked with the Pahalgam terror attack.

He said the operation sought to communicate a clear message. India believes in peace and tolerance, but opponents should never interpret either quality as weakness.

Two-Part Docuseries Will Explore Decisions Behind the Operation

According to Discovery, the two-part series will feature experiences from senior military and national security officials. It will also explain decisions taken during Operation Sindoor.

India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7, 2025. Earlier, terrorists carried out an attack in Pahalgam on April 22, 2025. Several people lost their lives during that incident.

Afterwards, India launched military action against terrorist locations in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

Ajit Doval ranks among the leading officials within India’s national security structure. He is a retired Indian Police Service officer.
